CallMD is a national network of medical doctors available for consultation and may write a prescription for a non-narcotic or non-controlled medication at any time day or night. Below are some common questions asked about CallMD and how / why to use the service.
- Why would I use CallMD instead of going to see a doctor?
You want to talk to a doctor now, or it is late at night, and you can’t reach your doctor. Or perhaps you are traveling and you cannot get an appointment with your doctor for a few days. Or maybe it’s just not convenient for you to go and wait in the doctor’s office. CallMD physicians are available 24/7 to assist you, on your schedule.
- What are the qualifications of CallMD doctors and where are they located?
Only board certified, licensed physicians may join the CallMD Doctor Network. CallMD conducts a thorough background check on each doctor and monitors state medical boards to make sure our physicians remain in good standing. CallMD physicians are U.S. based and are licensed to practice medicine in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington D.C.
- How do I get a doctor on the phone?
Simply dial the toll free number in your membership material to arrange your doctor consultation. A CallMD nurse will answer your call, ask you about your current symptoms, take your medical history if it is not already on file, and arrange to get a doctor on the phone. As soon as a doctor is available in your state (generally within an hour), the nurse will arrange a three-way call with you and the doctor.
