Pathology is the science that examines the cause and effects of diseases usually found by laboratory results.¹ Maxillofacial and oral refer to the face, jaw, and mouth.

What is Maxillofacial Pathology?

It is a dental subject that looks into the diseases of the oral and maxillofacial area of the face. It explores and diagnoses these maladies by researching through the sources of clinicals, radiographic, microscopic, and biochemical.²

Pathologists:

Pathologists for oral and maxillofacial are the ones who diagnose the diseases to the face. They go through the ADA (American Dental Association) recognized three year program. Pathologists work in hospitals or universities.
